I was a conservative as a teenager - influenced by William Buckley. But in years since, I have encountered a more complex reality than my teenage mind could anticipate. I thought of all this when I read about the Dobbs decision - an opinion by an angry white conservative Catholic who quoted ancient legal lore in his decision.
None of his opinion included an understanding that women were excluded from the discussion.
To be frank, I don’t think Sam Alito cares.
But surely we must now include women and non whites in our understanding.
Mostly, I am tired of the fight. But maybe this cartoon will inspire a younger person.
